mission of the HCRC is to increase capacity for the
Hawaii Island community and Hawaii County departments
in the areas of collaboration, organization and funding,
making Hawaii Island a better place to live.

The Healing Our Island website is a Hawaii County resource
to promote a drug free, healthy community. It's
mission is to have everyone working together to heal our island from
the harmful effects of crystal methamphetamine or 'ice.' Hawaii
has been impacted by the harmful effects of substance abuse upon families,
businesses, and communities. In order to improve Hawaii's quality of
life, this site promotes community based programs and grassroots efforts
toward education, prevention, treatment and recovery for youth and at-risk
adults. The goal is
to ensure that Hawaii Island is a healthy and safe place for our children
and our families.This
information exchange is being provided as a public service.
